SPECIAL PROJECTS
Located in the elevated area of Cumbres, Monterrey, the Universidad del Valle de México (UVM) Campus Cumbres faced a unique challenge due to the rugged terrain. This obstacle inspired the creation of varied outdoor spaces that seamlessly integrate with the buildings, offering students an immersive campus environment. The design emphasizes sustainability, balancing energy efficiency with comfort.

The UVM Campus Cumbres, with a construction area of 40,000 m² and a total land surface of 55,000 m², focuses on mitigating the region’s extreme climate. Natural ventilation and strategic positioning enhance the student areas, while administrative spaces benefit from efficient artificial climate control. The project prioritizes energy and water conservation, using balanced natural and energy-saving artificial lighting. Its sustainable design highlights the importance of eco-conscious solutions in educational architecture.
The architecture’s success lies in its balance between innovative environmental solutions and functional spaces that cater to student needs, creating an optimal educational atmosphere.
